The Power of an Inner Circle
The concept of Inner circle has helped many great leaders. A person’s individual efforts can only do so much. Through the power of a team of Inner Circle, a leadership potential is increased. Who are the 5 people closest to you as a leader? Do you have a team? Who do you have in your team? Part of leadership responsibility is delivery. A leader has to deliver and there is just no substitute to performance. Delivery and performance is made possible with a good team.
As a leader, I remember years back how my team stepped in to enrich my leadership. The best leaders pick good team of people who compliment their weaknesses. Who is in your team? Leaders have to be intentional about picking a team. There is no lone ranger in leadership. Picking the right people for the inner circle is about surrounding yourself with people who will lift you up. This is because a leader’s potential is determined by those in their Inner Circle.
Team building is an important aspect of leadership. You cannot do it all by yourself.. It is not enough to just have people in your Inner Circle without them getting along with one another. Your Inner Circle must compliment you while you also empower them as well as add value to their lives. A leader can easily fail if they do not have a solid Inner Circle.
With a good Inner Circle, a leader must first work on themselves. You must know what area of your life that needs changing and do so accordingly. Remember that you cannot change others. You must first work on yourself. Working on yourself is knowing what your core values, personalities and strengths are. In it all, be authentic. Leaders make things better for their Inner Circle. Their victory is very important to the leader. Remember that leadership is about influence. To influence others, performance is necessary. Performance of a leader is more enriched by their inner circle.
